DSA, Inc. was formed in 2002 by a group of professionals who had worked in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities in central Indiana for over 20 years.

The group homes were purchased from a large multi-state operation. At one time all 16 group homes had been operated by Indiana companies and it is the goal of Douglas Dugger, President and owner of DSA to assure local ownership of these homes.  He oversees the operation of DSA and part of his mission for DSA is to remain a locally owned and operated business.  His children have joined him in operating DSA.

DSA, Inc. currently provides residential services in Indiana to 136 adults who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and who reside in 16 group homes and 7 Medicaid waiver sites. The homes are located in Hancock, Marion, Shelby, Madison and Henry counties.   All DSA, Inc. group homes provide round-the-clock staffing.  A full range of health care services, behavior management and active treatment programs are provided in the group homes.

DSA has added Medicaid Waiver (supported living) services to its array of residential services and currently provides Residential Habilitation and Support (RHS), Community based Habilitation-individual services (CHIO), Transportation and Wellness Coordination. DSA’s supported living program has been developed at a controlled rate to ensure the services provided to consumers can be sustained at the level of quality expected by the mission of DSA. responsible for ourselves and our actions is the beginning of peak performance.
